Personal Snapshot:

I'm an East Bay girl now, after living within 5 miles of the ocean for almost 40 years. I was raised in Monterey, Carmel and Pacific Grove, and had the wonderful good luck to work at a truly free-form, "progressive, underground" FM radio station, KLRB in Carmel, in the late 70's.

We played literally everything from Spyrogyra to Blue Cheer. Not a format that makes a lot of money, though, so when I heard about an opening at an equally adventurous (for a big city) station, KFOG in San Francisco, I leapt at the chance. I've been here an unheard-of long time, a little less than Dave Morey, and not a day goes by that I don't wear a deeper hole in the knees of my jeans getting down and thanking whatever good fortune brought me to this enlightened place!

My husband Barry and I have two girls, 9 and 12, Holly and Amanda, and a hyper, super-smart smooth-coated Border Collie, Jammer. And a canary, and a peach-faced lovebird.

We live in Walnut Creek near Heather Farms, a huge park and gardens area with two lakes. It's like living across the street from a nature preserve. We love the herons and egrets and hawks we see among the pines and the willows. Barry and I BART into the City together some weekdays, and I drive the school carpool a couple of days a week when school's in session. I get to volunteer in my daughters' schools too, with my 2 weekdays off. That's what I like about KFOG DJ's - we live the life of many of our listeners!
